Take Note: A Deeper Look into Tony Ultra

by
What’s Up everybody! welcome to Notes to Self. I’m Tony Ultra, and if you’re here, you probably already know my music has always been more than beats and bars. This space, named after my 2014 EP Notes to Self, is where I get to go beyond the tracks and take you deeper into my world. That project captured a turning point in my journey, and over the years, it’s become a classic for me and my fans—an authentic reflection of everything I was going through back then and the foundation of what I’ve been building since.
Born and raised in Florida, I came up on a mix of old-school tapes and church music. My house was full of records from legends like James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, and Al Green—true icons who taught me the power of storytelling and rhythm. When I went to church with my grandma, I got into gospel, and that jazzier, soulful sound has stayed with me ever since. I learned early that music isn’t just entertainment; it’s a language and a way to connect with people.
Art has always been a big part of my life. Going to a performing arts school as a kid introduced me to drawing, painting, playing instruments, and even dancing. That experience showed me that creativity has no limits, and it’s shaped how I approach everything I do. When I’m making music, I’m tapping into all these different sides of myself, weaving together my skills in production, lyricism, and rhythm to create something real.
Here on Notes to Self, I’ll be sharing my deep thoughts, ideas, and personal revelations—kind of like an open journal. You’ll also find updates on my fitness journey, select music reviews, and my thoughts on pop culture and current events that align with my brand. I want this space to be a real extension of me, where we can dive into what inspires me, what drives me, and the things that help me grow.
Music, to me, is about sharing stories, not just my own but those of people around me. Whether it’s my own struggles and triumphs or the experiences of friends and family, I’m here to reflect something real. My goal is for my music and my words to resonate with people on their own journeys. I know life isn’t always easy, but through Notes to Self, I want to remind all of us that we’re in this together.
Thanks for being here, for listening, and for riding along with me. Stick around for insights, stories, and everything that keeps Notes to Self alive. Together, we’ll keep making this world a little more real, a little more grounded, and hopefully, a little more connected.
